The Mid-Atlantic can sometimes be the forgotten region, despite the presence of hot spots like Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Charlotte. Technically, UC-Davis holds the top spot with a $175,000 base. However, Davis’ number is based on a single graduate’s salary (which still beats out the highest-paid Mid-Atlantic grads from Stanford GSB, Northwestern Kellogg, and Chicago Booth). In reality, the highest base pay average belongs to MIT Sloan at $151,111. While this is the lowest top base in any region domestically, it still represents the highest-paying region for Sloanies. Not surprisingly, Harvard, Stanford, and Wharton grads each pulled in bases ranging from $145K-$146K. At the same time, Vanderbilt Owen’s $134,333 base topped higher-ranked programs like NYU Stern, Virginia Darden, and Duke Fuqua here. A Harvard MBA earned a $210K base from one Mid-Atlantic employer, while several top schools topped out at $165K.
