A map of New York City with markers for each school, colored according to how many classrooms are either under repair or out of commission. While the vast majority of schools are completely operational, about two dozen appear darker on the map, meaning a significant proportion of their classrooms are non-operational.
This map excludes at least 60 preschools, annexes and administrative buildings, as well as buildings for which location or ventilation data were not readily available. Buildings may be older than their schools' opening dates.
