Homes built in high-risk wildfire zones: 1990 to 2016

Headwaters Economics looked at new single family homes built in western Montana from 1990 to 2016. Specifically, the report focused on how many homes were built in areas considered high-risk for wildfire activity. Out of the 25 counties studied, Ravalli County built the most single-family homes during that stretch at 6,987. Hover over a county on the map to see how many homes were built.
