Partisan biases deepening in successive rounds of the survey

Where respondents are placed on the "partisan index"

Sample size: 9,698 respondents. The partisan index is based on responses to four statements about the party one identifies with the most: 1) When people criticize the party, it feels like a personal insult, 2) When I meet someone who supports the party, I feel connected with this person, 3) When I speak about the party, I refer to it as 'my party.', 4) When people praise the party, it makes me feel good. In each case, the respondents could pick from “Always”, “Often”, “Sometimes”, “Never”. Weak partisans include those who do not identify with any party.
