CO2 Emissions Skyrocketed After Industrial Revolution
The global atmospheric concentration (in parts per million) of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) has increased steadily since the end of the eighteenth century.
This line chart shows how carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions rose following the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution began in 1750. Since then, the global atmospheric concentration of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, measured in parts per million, has increased steadily. The concentration levels have skyrocketed since the Industrial Revolution, from around 280 parts per million to 400 parts per million.
