Ohio and U.S. poverty rates over time

Both Ohio and the U.S. saw poverty rates peak during the Great Recession, but Ohio's poverty rate has decreased slower than nationwide. Poverty rates are expressed as three-year averages.

Three-year averages for 2012-2014 were not available. Margins of error for each varies from +/- .2% to 1.5%. Margins of error for Ohio poverty rates were larger than those for nationwide poverty rates.
