College-going rates are higher among math dual enrollees than all high school seniors in California

College-going rates within one year of high school graduation

Source: Authors’ calculation using COMIS data, and DataQuest by California Department of Education. NOTES: Data for all high school completers in California come from the California Department of Education's DataQuest tool. The 2021-22 cohort is used as it is the most recent year with available CDE data. For data related to math dual enrollees, sample is restricted to high school graduating cohort 2021-22 who enrolled in at least one math dual enrollment credit course at a CCC. While the enrollment rates to “Other 4-Year” for math dual enrollees account for enrollments in other 4-year institutions only, the rates for CA high school graduates include both 2-year and 4-year institutions due to data limitations. Consequently, the college-going rates to “Other 4-Year” for CA high school graduates are overestimated in the figure. Figure is created using data from Technical Appendix Table B9.
