Annual average global temperature anomaly, relative to 1850-1900 baseline

Note: Temperature anomalies represent departures from a long-term, average baseline temperature and are useful in depicting climate variability. The baseline temperature from 1850 to 1900 represents pre-industrial temperatures. This is the baseline used in the Paris Climate Agreement. ERA5 begins tracking annual average global temperature anomalies in 1940.
