New cases per 10,000 residents over two-week period

New coronavirus case rates in East Metro counties have declined since state health officials introduced that metric as a planning tool for schools considering whether to hold in-person classes during the pandemic.

Dates indicate when data was released, but case rates reflect when test samples were collected, which in each case is a two-week period ending 12 days prior to the date shown. For example, Sept. 24 case rates are based on test samples collected Aug. 30 - Sept. 12. Under state guidelines, a case rate of 10-20 means elementary students may be able to safely attend in-person classes every day, while middle and high school students can attend part-time to allow for social distancing.
