Georgia's ACA growth: 2020 to 2024

The Affordable Care Act marketplace exchange, also known as Obamacare, now insures more than 1 million Georgians with subsidized private health insurance plans.
Whether you can be eligible, and how much your premium will be, depends on your income bracket in relation to the federal poverty level. That level changes with inflation every year.
Here are how many Georgians enrolled in ACA health plans in 2020 and 2024, by income level.

Income levels
The income levels shown in the graphic are divided up by percentages of the federal poverty level: Dark blue is 100%-150% of the federal poverty level, for example. This key shows how each income level is set in dollars for 2024 for a one-person household.

*Before the federal pandemic subsidies, people making 400% of the federal poverty level or more got no federal subsidies on the ACA. That’s more than $60,240 a year for an individual or $120,000 for a family of four. That higher income population now can get federal subsidies, and has also been helped by a Georgia subsidy program under Gov. Kemp.
