Forget the Ivy League. Northeast employers love Stanford GSB graduates. In fact, they hired 60 members of the Class of 2023 – or roughly 14% of the class. More than that, East Coast employers paid GSB grads an average base of $200,430 in their first year. That’s higher than any school’s graduates in the Northeast, including the Ivy stalwarts Wharton School ($179,393) and Harvard Business School ($177,939). It also represented a $9K pay improvement over the previous GSB class. However, a Stanford grad didn’t collect the highest possible paycheck. That honor belonged to MIT Sloan ($550,000) and Northwestern Kellogg ($450,000) in the region. Overall, 24 Full-Time MBA programs reported graduates averaging $150K or more in the Northeast. While higher pay generally corresponded to higher rankings in the Northeast, there were two programs that punched above their ranking here: Vanderbilt Owen ($161,768) and Notre Dame Mendoza ($161,036). Vanderbilt Owen also saw starting pay jump by $14,139 over the previous year, a bit higher than Dartmouth Tuck’s $13,566 improvement. Technically, Texas A&M’s starting base rose by $30,904 over the past year. However, this number is based on the performance of 7 Mays graduates in the Northeast.
