Racial Demographics of Journalists in the United States

In Pew Research Center’s 2022 study, “Journalists Sense Turmoil in Their Industry Amid Continued Passion for Their Work,” 11,889 journalists participated. Of those, 77% identified as white, 8% as Hispanic, 6% as Black, 3% as Asian, 3% as other non-Hispanic, and 3% did not respond.
