Sportsbook revenue by state

The revenue listed is the reported “hold” from each state’s respective sportsbook operator. The hold is what is left once the winning bets are paid off. In February, for example, gamblers in Rhode Island placed $20.7 million in wagers. The state’s two licensed sportsbooks collectively paid out nearly $21.6 million on winning bets, for a loss of nearly $891,000.
