Togo, Mali and Senegal are the only other countries to have even one study. The rest of West Africa, including Mauritania and Guinea and Niger, have not had a single autism research paper.
Data are based on 41 peer-reviewed studies about autism for each country in West Africa. The researchers searched PubMed, Google Scholar and the African Index Medicus, and performed Google searches.
