MLB hitters are usually timing their swings for the fastball

League-wide swing timing against fastballs and secondary pitches during the 2026 season, based on more than 200,000 tracked swings.

Fastballs include four-seam fastballs, sinkers and cutters. Secondary pitches include sliders, sweepers, curveballs, changeups, splitters and other non-fastballs. Percentages may not sum to 100 because of rounding.
