Hispanic and Black Americans most likely to report pandemic-related layoffs

A new AP-NORC poll finds that about 4 in 10 Hispanic Americans and 3 in 10 Black Americans say someone in their household was laid off during the pandemic. Only about 2 in 10 white Americans say the same.

At any point since March 2020, have you or has someone in your household been laid off because of the coronavirus pandemic?

Results based on interviews with 1,434 U.S. adults conducted Feb. 25—Mar. 1. The margin of error is ±3.4 percentage points for the full sample.
