Nonpartisan pick of partisan ballots in 2024, 2026 primaries

Voters in Nebraska not aligned with one of four registered political parties can still vote in primary elections. Beginning in 2024, the Nebraska Secretary of State's Office began indicating which partisan ballot a nonpartisan voter selected, if any.

In 2026, nonpartisan voters picking a Democratic or Libertarian ballot could vote in all races, but voters selecting a Republican or Legal Marijuana NOW ballot could weigh in on only federal races.
