Violence Against California ER Workers Jumps

Attacks on workers in emergency rooms by patients, visitors, and strangers increased by about 25% in five years, from 2,587 in 2018 to 3,238 in 2023, based on reports filed by hospital staffers.

Note: Some attacks might have been reported more than once. For instance, an attacker may have hurt two workers, and each might have filed a report.
