Sea level rise rates along the contiguous U.S. coast, 1995-2024

Sea level rise is slow (and in a few places, nonexistent) on the West Coast, but rapid in the Gulf and Southeast.

Trends over 30 years were calculated based on monthly data from NOAA's "Sea Level Trends" site. These data include land motion, and are adjusted to remove the seasonal cycle. Sites with less than 70 percent complete years were excluded.
