Billionaire-backed group leads effort to defeat wealth tax

Building a Better California accounts for 96% of spending against Proposition 40’s one-time 5% tax on California billionaires and in support of Propositions 41 and 42, which would nullify the wealth tax if they receive more votes. Supporters of the tax are being outraised by more than 9 to 1.
