This figure shows the proportion of all people killed in crashes with motor vehicles annually (motor vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian combined) who are pedestrians. While the number of pedestrian fatalities decreased in 2023, those fatalities represented the highest share of traffic deaths reported by data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
