Planned Lancaster County Solid Waste Authority waste transfer station

The Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority is planning to build a $75 million waste transfer station on a 55-acre site at the Colonel Howard Boulevard/Route 222 interchange in East Cocalico Township. Construction is expected to begin in 2027 or 2028 and be completed in 2029. The authority’s Harrisburg Pike transfer station in Lancaster city is nearing its permitted capacity.
