What High-Earning Middle-Class Buyers Can Afford in 100 U.S. Cities

Using SmartAsset's estimates of the upper bounds of middle-class incomes in 100 U.S. cities, Zoocasa calculated how much home buyers at that income level could afford based on each city's median single-family home price.

Median single-family home prices were sourced from a combination of the National Association of Realtors and local real estate boards. The maximum affordability in each city was calculated by using calculator.net's "How much house can I afford" calculator, assuming a down payment of 20%, and a 30-year fixed mortgage and an interest rate of 6.76%. Taxes, insurance, heating and other expenses or debts were not factored in the calculation. With a conventional loan (28/36 rule)
