Males take fewer AP tests but score higher on average

For each AP subject, the percentage of test takers who are male and the difference between the average male score and the average female score. Across all subjects, men take 44.3% of the tests but score 0.20 points higher.

Data is for California high school students who took the test in 2019. College Board has not published such a detailed breakdown in subsequent years and has removed the spreadsheets for this and prior years from its website.
