Southeast Minnesota Hospital Diversion Status

Data from MDH's MNTrac show how often hospitals go on diversion status, which means they are not accepting new patient transfers into certain areas of the hospital. This graph shows how many times each hospital used a diversion status between Jan. 1, 2022 and March 18, 2024. Information for Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester is reflected in a different graph.

Full closed definition: unable to accept patients arriving by ambulance. Closed to admissions definition: not accepting new patients for inpatient care, but EMS can continue transporting patients for emergency treatment. *Olmsted Medical Center confirmed that it does voluntarily report its diversion status data to MNTrac, and a spokesperson told the Post Bulletin that "if no data was reported, it means that we did not go into divert during that time period."
