States are ranked by the percentage of all mortgage applications made by persons under age 35. Also provided is the total number of such applications.

Mortgage application figures were calculated from HMDA snapshot data for 2025. The typical home value in each state was sourced from Zillow’s Home Value Index for all homes using April 2026 data.
