Percentage of Canadians Who Plan to Have Children: 2021 vs. 2024

The 2024 survey found that more Canadian men and women plan to have children than in the 2021 survey.

Notes: 1). “Plans to have children” refers to the desire to have biological children or additional biological children in the future, excluding any current children. 2). Data are from the Canadian Social Survey conducted in 2021 and 2024, examining changes in fertility intentions among Canadians aged 15 to 49.
