In 2018, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provided food funds to people of all races and levels of poverty. Despite non-Hispanic whites making up over 60% of the population, SNAP users are more likely to be people of color than white. SNAP users are also much more likely to be between 50% to 100% of the poverty line than other ranges of poverty.
