Non-violent immigration violations drive ICE arrests in Arizona

From January to July, most immigrants with criminal convictions arrested by ICE in Arizona had an immigration violation as the most serious conviction on their record. About 94% of those were for illegal entry into the U.S., a misdemeanor, or illegal re-entry after a previous deportation, a felony.

Data includes only those who were arrested by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations inside the country and sent to detention. It does not reflect actions taken by Customs and Border Protection.
