Shapiro in Stronger Position than 2022

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro appears to be in a stronger position this year than he was in the home stretch four years ago. The governor's 21-point lead over State Treasurer Stacy Garrity less than six weeks before the election is significantly larger than the 13-point lead he held over State Senator Doug Mastriano in a New York Times/Sienna College poll two weeks out from Election Day four years ago. 

Note: The 2026 poll was conducted from September 15 to 21, 2026. The 2022 poll was conducted from October 24 to 26, 2022. Responses shown here have margins of error ranging from 2.2 to 4.4 percentage points. Percentages may not add to 100 due to rounding.
