Since the start of New York City's congestion pricing toll on Jan. 5, 2025, the number of car crashes below 60th St in Manhattan, otherwise known as the Congestion Relief Zone, has dropped by 14% compared to the same window of time in 2024. Between 2024 and 2023, the number of crashes in the Congestion Relief Zone dropped by 5%. Since 2022, car crashes have overall become less common, and congestion pricing is accelerating that trend.
