We compiled and harmonised the sector names that were and are used for reporting GHG emission projections under Article 14 of the Monitoring Mechanism Regulation (up to 2020) and Article 18 of the Governance Regulation (from 2021 onwards). During the reporting process slight changes in names and different use of notation in reporting templates hindered a straight-forward comparison of data across reporting years.
Applying this table enables the comparison of GHG emission projections across all submissions made by European Member Stats between 2015 and today.
The corresponding projection data itself for these years we made available on the Open Energy Platform, applying this harmonised sector nomenclature. This data is now thus comparable and research questions can be applied without having to harmonise the data beforehand.
