Incomplete work on Planada flood repairs

The County of Merced canceled a $7.65 million contract with Habitat for Humanity of Merced and Stanislaus Counties, awarded in February 2024, after the homebuilding nonprofit did not complete repair work on flood-damaged homes in Planada by the end of 2025. As of December, Habitat had only invoiced the county for just under $4.9 million of the $7.65 allocated by the county.
