Children and seniors as percentages
of the total population in Galveston 

In Galveston, the number of children as a percentage of total population has declined, whereas the number of people over 65 has increased, as a percentage. However, this aligns with nationwide trends. In 2010, people 65 years old and older made up 12.7 percent of the population, compared with 16.5 percent in 2019. Children under 18 made
up 24.4 percent of the population in 2010, compared with 22.2 percent in 2019.
