Where the Mississippian fits in the periods of the geologic time scale (Copy)
A geological time scale from the Quaternary period to the Hadean period detailing each epoch in between and the dates for when they took place with a locator of where we currently are in this timeline at the top. The geological time scale spans from the present day to approximately 4.5 billing years ago. There are five major mass extinction points listed. Each period is given a colour from beige to slate grey to dark grey to moss green all the way to teal.
