STATE NOTE. Results reflect the ACT Aspire assessment (2018-2023) and the ATLAS assessment (2024-current) administered to grades 3-8; data accessed 7/9/26. Arkansas first administered the ATLAS assessment in 2024 (noted in figure), aligned to the 2017 Arkansas Academic Standards. Given the change in assessments, use caution when comparing to prior years; trends are included here for reference only. "Proficiency" here includes students meeting or exceeding grade-level expectations on the ATLAS (levels 3-4).
2020 NOTE. State Education Agencies (SEAs) did not administer assessments in Spring 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic (noted in figure).
