Minneapolis Areas Affected by Proposed Liquor Law Changes

Last year, the city of Minneapolis proposed to the state legislature the expansion of the current downtown Minneapolis sales tax district. This map shows how the district could have been expanded to include Minneapolis’ North Loop if House Bill HF3715 and its companion Senate bill SF 4243 had passed the legislature during this year’s legislative session.

The orange area represents the original downtown sales tax district. The blue area represents the district proposed in HF 3715 and SF 4243. The southwest red area is excluded from both sales tax district shapes.
