Approval ratings of coronavirus response vary by government level

A new AP-NORC poll finds local and state governments earn public praise for their handling of the coronavirus outbreak. A deep partisan divide drives lower approval overall of the federal government's response.

Results based on interviews with 1,057 U.S. adults conducted March 26-29. The margin of error is ±4.1 percentage points for the full sample.
