Lower credit loads mean less federal loan money

At six eligible credits, students receive just half of the maximum amount available to them.

Students must be enrolled in at least six eligible credit hours to qualify for federal loans. Students enrolled in 12 or more eligible credit hours receive their maximum loan amount.
