Across the U.S., 10.1% of people are living with at least one disability. In 22 states – including Maine, Ohio, Arkansas and Idaho – a higher percentage of people have disabilities. In 11 states, such as New Hampshire, Georgia and Wyoming – as well as Washington, D.C. – the share of people with disabilities is close to the national average. And in the remaining 17 states, including New York, Virginia, Texas and California, a smaller share of the population is living with one or more disabilities.
