COVID-19 caused local municipalities to lose Accommodations Tax revenue

As of July 1, 2020, the end of the fiscal year, municipalities in Horry County had lost a collective $2.5 million in Accommodations Tax revenue alone. Grand Strand municipalities operate on June to July fiscal years, meaning local governments are grappling with these losses now.

Note: Loris did not receive any Accommodations Tax revenue in either 2019 or 2020 so it is not included in this chart
