Nebraska school districts classifications, 2023

Nebraska classifies its 244 school districts to help ensure all students from all backgrounds and circumstances have access to quality educational experiences and opportunities, according to Brian Maher, Nebraska's education commissioner. Six school districts are at the lowest classification; 67 districts are at the highest.

Classifications are based on a variety of factors, including student performance in English language arts and math in grades 3-8 and while in high school with the ACT.
