Many issues can impede EV charging

In an ongoing study, the University of California Davis and the California Energy Commission are sending college students across the state to test EV chargers. Nearly 30% of charge attempts have failed, for reasons including congestion at chargers, damaged chargers, difficulty finding charging stations with apps and faulty performance by the charger.
