A quarter of Americans report pandemic-related layoffs

A new AP-NORC poll finds that Black and Hispanic Americans and Americans without a college degree were especially likely to say they were laid off at some point during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At any point since March 2020, have you or has someone in your household been laid off because of the coronavirus pandemic, or not?

Results based on interviews with 1,434 U.S. adults conducted Feb. 25—Mar. 1. The margin of error is ±3.4 percentage points for the full sample.
