Catalytic converter thefts climbed recently in Conn.

Connecticut has been among the hardest hit states in the nation during the surge in catalytic converter thefts over the past three years, according to recently released statistics from the insurance industry. Thefts of the vehicle exhaust components soared from 82 in 2020 to 860 the next year and 1,184 last year, the National Insurance Crime Bureau reported. Across the nation, thefts climbed from 16,660 in 2020 to 64,701 last year.
