Sweeping changes to SEPTA’s bus, train, and trolley lines are set to take effect as part of the transit system’s austerity budget. Service will be cut by 20% beginning Aug. 24, increasing wait times between rides. On Sept. 1, fares will increase by 21.5% across the board on all of SEPTA’s services, including weekly and monthly passes. SEPTA says it will produce new timetables in early August, and that some details may change.
