Lake Lanier parks temporarily closing

UPDATE: On Thursday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a new, shorter, list of parks at Lake Lanier run by the corps that will close because of budgeting shortfalls. The corps had previously listed 20 parks at the lake slated for closure. See below for the list of closures and of parks listed as open.

Balus, Belton, Bolding Mill Multipurpose, Buford Dam Park, Duckett Mill Multipurpose, East Bank Park, Lanier Park, Little Ridge, Lower Pool West, Lower Overlook, Lula, Nix Bridge Park, Simpson, Sardis Creek, Thompson Bridge, Thompson Creek Park, Tidwell, Toto Creek Multipurpose, Vann’s Tavern, West Bank, West Bank Scenic Overlook
