Haryana and Tamil Nadu may need additional doctors within a fortnight
Days left to reach "threshold" number of active coronavirus cases, projected based on each state's compound daily growth rate in May.
The "threshold" in this analysis is 0.17 active coronavirus cases per registered allopathic doctor in each state. This was the ratio in Maharashtra on 23 May, when the state requested Kerala for additional doctors. The threshold should not be seen as an indicator of complete collapse of the health system. Punjab was not included in the analysis as active cases declined in May. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been analysed together as their separate doctor tallies were not available. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are also paired for the same reason.
