Greenhouse gases emitted in California

California's newly revised climate strategy sets a more ambitious 2030 goal of cutting greenhouse gases by 48% compared to 1990. But reaching the new target of 226 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents in eight years will take steep declines in emissions and use of fossil fuels.
