Voter turnout in Fort Worth-area school board elections remains low

Despite tens of thousands of registered voters in each district, fewer than 10% cast ballots in most May 2025 school board races. White Settlement ISD saw the lowest participation, while Keller ISD had the highest.

*In Northwest ISD, incomplete registration totals made comparison difficult.

*Fort Worth ISD elects trustees through single-member districts, meaning only voters in specific geographic areas vote for each seat. Most other districts elect trustees at-large, allowing all registered voters in the district to participate in each race — resulting in higher total voter counts.
